Reservation and Cancellation Policy
Reservation and Cancellation Policy
Please note credit card details are required to make a booking. A card will only be charged in the event of a no-show, reduction in numbers or cancellation with less than 7 days notice prior to the reservation.
A minimum of 7 days notice is required for reduction in numbers to your party size, cancellation or date reschedule. Failure to do this will incur a cancellation fee of the full menu price 140 per person for your reservation - if the reservation is unable to be filled.
Bookings are transferable to another person
Reservations are essential
Pricing is subject to change without notice
Chauncy accepts online reservations only
Reservations are essential due to the small size of the venue
Chauncy accepts a maximum of 6 guests per reservation
Changes to Existing Reservations
Changes to existing reservations cannot be guaranteed and will be accommodated only when the requested table, date and time are available.
Waitlist
If your preferred date is currently full, please use the waitlist. As cancellations do occur, you will have priority.
Dietary Requirements
Due to the nature of a set menu, a minimum of 7 days notice is required for all dietary requirements and although we do our best to accommodate most dietaries, we are not always able to adjust the menu for guests who require no lactose and/or onion or garlic.
We do offer pescatarian and vegetarian menus but cannot accommodate a vegan menu at this stage.
Unfortunately, we cannot change the menu on the day.
To avoid disappointment please advise of any dietaries at the time of booking.
Young Diners
Chauncy welcomes young diners, 12 years and older, however we do not offer a reduced-priced menu nor can we accomodate highchairs. A minimum of 3 hours is required to enjoy the menu du jour.
Group Reservations
Chauncy is unable to accept reservations for groups larger than six (6) guests
Split Tables
Due to the nature of our small venue, numbers are limited to a maximum of six guests per reservation and please note that this also means that we do not allow groups to split across multiple tables as it is disruptive to your party, other guests, and our sequence of service.
Multiple reservations / holding reservations
Unfortunately guests making multiple bookings and holding table can be very problematic for us as a small business. Due to the unsustainable way of some guests using our booking system, we have no choice but to cancel multiple bookings and when you have conferred with your other guests, please reserve for a date that is suitable for all.
By holding multiple tables, other guest are unable to reserve their preferred date in advance and cancellations of large bookings a week or two prior can ruin a week or what appeared to be a full week of reservations. Please be mindful that when making reservations, you have a direct impact on a small business - we ask you to do so mindfully and respectfully.
If you do wish to make several bookings over consecutive weeks please email us at bonjour@chauncy.com.au or call us Thursday through to Monday on 4432 7951 to arrange.
Yours sincerely,
Louis and Tess
